This is a hands-on role with a large national company offering full training and a supportive team environment.
Your main duties will include:
- Unloading sea containers from trains on the rail line (working both indoors and outdoors).
- Loading and unloading steel coils from trucks using a counterbalance forklift (training provided if required).
- Removing foam blocks by hand from containers that secure the steel coils.
- Operating a steel processing/slitting line during quieter periods, including:
- Learning to operate the console/machine.
- Assisting with manual tasks such as lifting and moving slitting wheels to set up the machine.
- If you hold a Gantry Crane ticket, you'll receive training to operate the gantry crane.
Requirements
- Valid LF Forklift Licence (experience preferred, but candidates with minimal experience and a great attitude are encouraged to apply).
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual work.
- Gantry Crane ticket is highly regarded but not essential.
Shift
- Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday
- Approximately 9:54 pm – 6:00 am
- Overtime and weekend work are available if desired.
Pay
- Ordinary Rate: $33.91 per hour
- Night Shift Rate: $44.08 per hour, which includes a 30% night shift loading.
